老若男女の区別なく、いつも笑顔を絶やさない人がいます。こういう人に出会うと、なぜか気持ちが和んで、知らないうちに自分も微笑んでいる事に気がつく事があります。
こんな経験は私だけでしょうか？「そんなことはないな～」という方も、赤ちゃんの笑顔には、多分、笑顔で反応した事があるでしょう。
笑顔とは、万国どの民族にも共通です。とても不思議な行為ですね。笑顔の人の特徴は何でしょう？また、笑顔はどんな効果を周りの人と自分にもたらしてくれるのでしょうか？
笑顔のもつ不思議な力
いつも笑顔の人の特徴を考えてみた。
明るい（人を惹きつけ、プラスの人間関係を築く）
いつも笑顔の人は、明るい印象を受けます。「明るさ」は自然に人を惹きつけます。周囲に人が集まるから、さらに明るい雰囲気になるような気がします。
笑顔には、不思議な連鎖反応力が潜んでいるように思えるのです。笑顔は自然と和やかな雰囲気をかもし出します。
大抵の場合、周りはさることながら、自分の気持ちもリラックス状態になり、どのような場面にあっても攻撃的な気持ちになることがありません。
笑顔は、次から次へと良い事を招いていきます。人間関係も、ぎくしゃくする事はまずなく、それどころか驚くほど好転します。
さらに、人間の第一印象は視覚が８割を占めます。笑顔の持つ効果はどれほどのものがあるでしょうか。
楽しそう（楽しいから笑顔、笑顔だから楽しくなる）
笑顔の人は、とても楽しそうに見えますね。笑顔を見て「心地よい」と感じると、警戒心はほぐれ、近づきたくなります。接しやすそうな印象は、親しくなる時間を縮めます。
逆に表情が暗かったり、無表情な人、そして常に眉間にシワを寄せている人には、人は集まりません。単純に、笑顔なら好かれ、怒り顔なら敬遠される事になります。
ところで、笑顔の時の心理はどんな状態でしょうか？もちろん、楽しいから笑顔になるのでしょう。そしてもう一つ、不思議な事に「笑顔を作るから、楽しくなる」というのも、人間には可能なようです。
科学的に研究を重ね、いくつか実験データも出ているようです。また、「”それらしく振舞う”ことによって、次第にそれ自体になって行く」心理学上の原則があります。
健康そうに振舞えば健康に、楽しそうに振舞えば楽しくなって行く、そんな傾向が人間にはあるんですね。
前向き（笑顔とα波の相乗効果）
いつも笑顔の人は、とてもポジティブな雰囲気を持っています。それもそのはず、『笑顔』にはスゴイ効果が潜んでいるんですね。「α波」という脳波がある事は皆さんもご存知でしょう。
α波は、リラックスしている時や、集中力の高まっている時に出てきます。「α波」という脳波が出ると、ストレスも軽減されます。この「α波」は、笑顔の時にも発生しますが、面白い事に、表情が笑顔の状態なら発生するというものです。
いつも笑顔の人は、こんな効果のある事を既に知っていたのか・・・？！。知らなかったとしても、ぶすっとしている時より笑顔の時の方が、リラックスしているのは確かです。
生き生き、ハツラツ（笑う門には、必ず来る福）
いつも笑顔の人は、年齢にかかわらず「ハツラツ」としています。前の項でもお話しましたが、笑顔の人は前向きなので、一緒にいると、エネルギーのお裾わけをもらえそうな感じがします（笑）。
また、笑顔の時はリラックス状態にあるので（それが作った笑顔でも）仕事や、作業中のストレスも軽減されたり、ネガティブな思考が生まれにくくなります。
そして、笑顔は健康維持にも大きく貢献しています。笑いは脳の血流を良くするので記憶力がアップしたり、体内の白血球中にあるナチュラルキラー細胞（ガンを抑制してくれる）を活性化してくれたりします。
ほんとうに、これは正に「笑う門には福来たる」ですね。
周りを元気にさせる（心からの笑顔をあなたの為に）
笑顔の人は、周りに元気を与えてくれる気がします。その秀でた例は、赤ちゃん。赤ちゃんの笑顔は最高です！ですが、赤ちゃんが笑っていなくても、私たちはつい笑いかけますね。赤ちゃんは笑顔で応えてくれます。
言葉もない「笑顔」だけのキャッチボールですが、とても心地よい思いに浸るはずです。嫌な事があっても、疲れていても、すっかり忘れられそうな感じがします。
ところで、赤ちゃんは元気のオーラを発していると私たちは確信していますが、ここでちょっと考えてみてください。赤ちゃんに向き合った時、気がつかなくても、あなたは赤ちゃんのようにまっさらな気持ちで笑いかけたのではないでしょうか。
あなたが、赤ちゃんに元気のオーラを発したのかもしれませんョ。赤ちゃんに限らず、心からの笑顔は、誰の心にも響くものがあります。

人は、無意識ながら相手の顔をまねすることで、この相手の感情を理解するのだそうです。自分から微笑みかければ、いずれあなたの発した笑顔は自分に戻ってきます。
そして、あなたの発した小さな微笑みが、受け取る側にはどれだけの価値があるのかも想像は付きません。先ずは自分の為に笑顔を忘れずにいてくださいね。
